Blank

This is the time of the month when I feel grumpy and complain about – literally – everything. I complained about the hot weather which makes me stay awake at night, the rain which ruins my white pants, the food which is way to expensive, the long queue for the credit card payment… everything!

At the end of the day, I realized that my friends are tired with my blabbering… and now I complain how my friends are ignorant! Hahaha…

My feeling is still awful, but this is temporary and I know things are going to be alright. Another month is passing soon, and I’m still sitting in office with 20 unused leave. I need to plan for holiday! Oh anyone… please initiate one and let me join… I’m no good in planning one. There is a NATAS event next week. Maybe it will be a good idea for me to go and take a look.

I have been living pretty much in my own world this week. My morning filled with “Lost Symbol”, and my evening was few episodes of “How I meet your mother” (season 5 now!) before I dropped to bed. Pretty much isolated from outside news… and that’s why.. Today I got a scolding from my father for not knowing anything about the latest happening T_T If reading a novel and watching few series already set me so isolated, what will happen when I decide to take a certification? At the end of the year, no one will remember me, I guess. Haha…

Anyway, yesterday I went to Mustafa Air Travel to apply for India Visa. No idea if I’m going anywhere, but my boss just wants everyone in the team to apply for one. I have no objection as long as it’s paid for :p This Visa application is the easiest one I had so far. It basically needs a letter from your company + a letter from india + SGD109. That’s all. After the hassle free application, we decided to pay a visit to City Square mall, since it’s just like across the road.

The mall is surprisingly good. It’s a 9 level mall, with 100++ food specialties. You name it they have it. It was so hard not to droll while passing through all the tempting food signboards. One of the restaurants that I’m really tempted to come back and try is one call Kichi Kichi Express Rotary Hotpot. It’s basically a hotpot buffet. What make it different is… the place comes with a Japanese sushi’s rotating table. Instead of sushi, they put the steamboat ingredient: tofu, mushroom, veggie, etc on the rotating table. I was so going in… if only I didn’t just eat a huge burger king before that.

Burger King - Angry Whopper. Yes, it's full of Chilli slices

We had fun exploring around the mall… I finally went home after a dinner at Ajisen Ramen. Oh yes, and I finally found the Nachos I have been searching for few weeks. It tastes exactly the same as the nachos we got from GV or Cathay, with only a slice of the price… nyummy!

10.00 PM now. Should I go for Future X-Cops or sleep?

Declaring the start of House Hunting!

NTU after almost two years!

To worry is a human nature.

I like my life now. I enjoyed being busy at work. I have fun during my weekend. Even so, there are so many things haunting my mind at the end of the day. Why does time flies so fast? When should I plan for my leave? What do I have to write in my performance evaluation? When can I take training? What if I just pass another year without taking any certification that I keep talking about? All these planning stuffs drive me a bit uneasy :(

I guess I have to find a day to deal with it… not this week, but next week, maybe? Oh dear, I have to plan a day for planning. I’m going to a recursive cycle :s

This week in office has been colorful. All my team members were here in Singapore. They flew all over from London, New York, Germany, etc. I was literally drooling when listening to their “complaints” about 18 non-stop flight from New York. First Class in SQ! I would do anything just to get into that flight. I can imagine myself eating and drinking and playing and watching non-stop :D as long as I wont be in the same ride with my boss. Haha..

Week just passed like that with full day workshops, coordination, dinner, and all. Most of them flew back on Friday (with few staying due to the cancelled flight to Europe). Next week onwards will most probably be the same normal routine week. I hope it is. This week has been cracking my nerve too much.

Anyway, I was glad to welcome Mr. Ho to Singapore last Wednesday. He came without any notice, and I forced him (a lot) to come out and met for dinner. I invited couple of friends to come along… threaten them not even try to come late…. And then… the usual – I was late myself. I went in there 5 mins before the last order, and got kicked out as the last customer in the restaurant. But we did had good time =D I want to post some pictures, but remembering Mr. Ho secrecy about his own snapshot, I better kept it for myself. Haha..

Friday, I went to Ari’s office for a visit. I kept complaining that the place is dark and humid and scary. But come to think about it, my office path is not much different too. After the two jungle worker had dinner, I went back home and broke my own record for earliest sleeping time on Friday night. I slept at 12.

Saturday, I woke up late, at 6.45, rushing all the way to shower and took a taxi to NTU. It was my first time visiting NTU after almost 2 years… the place didn’t change much, except for the library!!

Hardly recognized the Lee Wee Nam anymore

I spent great time there being nostalgic and played some photoshoot at NTU (thanks to the two most wonderful cameramen for granting my wish to go to NTU). The weather was super hot and I felt like I melt at least 2 kg and my skin brightness -2. After some photos, chit chat, chicken chop, cool drinks, and McFlurry, we went back home. I, feeling like washing my hair again (after some lying and rolling on the floor before), decided to do a 20 laps swimming before dinner. The next thing I know, I dozed off heavily in my bed.

Love this shot lots!

Sunday is just a lazy day for me :) I woke up at 8.30, doing literally nothing till 10.30, then start with my daily routine. At night, I watched “How to train a dragon”, which I feel, a nice 100 mins movie. The dragon looks scary in the beginning, but in the end, it’s just cute :D Without even realizing it… now is 11.30… and time to go to bed…

What’s next?

Long story short….

… I was late to office for the whole week! And the best part? 4 out of the 5 days, my boss sent meeting invite for 10am, just few hours before the actual meeting. I successfully late for all the meeting, with the last day being not attending at all =_=’’

So what caused my lateness? Lots of thing… the hot weather, the bad aircon, the late working hours… but mostly.. It’s the addiction to How I Meet your Mother. I was progressing 1 episode / month earlier and now is 1 season / week. I need to learn more about self control… I know T_T

Talking about addiction, I’m now addicted to a new game in facebook “Hotel City”, which is from the same producer of “Restaurant City”. It’s a simple brainless game… (That’s the reason I like it :D)All I have to do is building some room, earning some money, and then putting some decorations.

This week is no different from other week… Working hours are a bit long for me… and I kept complaining but still enjoying being busy in the end. Actually, today I pondered and imagined what kind of life I would have if I don’t have to work or go to office…. I won’t be able to use ‘busy’ as an excuse for not exercising, for not learning cooking, for not doing laundry. It will be tough!

As I’m writing this blog, Helios pointed me to a great article about life.

One of the sentences which stabbed me goes like this:

“I have nothing against average people. But no one should aspire to be them. And you don’t need years of education by the best minds in Singapore to prepare you to be average.”

People who know me will know how many times I complained and said I want an average normal job from 9 to 5. What’s wrong with being an average if average is all you need to life a normal happy life? :p apparently he has a point as well, but I’m still on my own stand of wanting a simple life…

Anyway, I like the article, even though I don’t agree with everything there. I agree that life is not simple, and a new perspective is always welcome. I watch “New York, I love you” last weekend, and I enjoyed it quite a lot, for it depicts different stories in people life. You can always relate your own stories there :)

Ok… it’s midnight now… and I’m going to be a good kid and sleep. Overall, this week is a nice week :) Despite the missing-bus stop-incident on Friday, I got a birthday gift for my Chinese New Year on Saturday, and had an awesome companion on Sunday.

@ Mayim - love the food and the companion! :)

Wish me no-late week ahead!

And, Ankle fully recovered! :D

The special April the first

April the first has always been a unique day for me. No matter how busy or stress up, the day is not a day without me tricking some people :p This year is no different. Thanks to those who make it into my victim list ;)

Apart from the usual April fool day, this year is made more special for one reason… I hit the “In Relationship” option in Facebook :) I know that it’s nothing more than clicking a button, technically; but with the current power of facebook, it’s the same as announcing to the world of your friends about it… and therefore come the pressure of ensuring everything is right for that :p

Anyway, few more things are here on April the first this year. It was the long-weekend eve. My working mood was totally zerolized since morning. Topped up with the fact that it’s Abhi’s last day, there is no reason not to have long lunch, snack, and two dinners :D

On the Good Friday, I woke up at 2pm (Blame it to restaurant city who make me sleep only at 5am). I rush to shower and the next thing I know, I was sitting in GV cinema watching Clash of Titans 3D. The movie was nothing near to OK. And for those who have decided to watch it no matter what, please do not ever consider watching the 3D version. Apart from the floating subtitle and darker view, there is nothing more to it from the 3D. Quite disappointed with how predictable the story goes… :(

After the movie, we had our dinnear at fish & co, before we then splitted for the day… and charging ourselves for the next sport day.

Saturday, I woke up equally late =.=’’ went to a temple for a prayer, then went all the way to Kembangan to meet up with friends. After few rounds of simplified Mahjong, I did some swimming and cheering the rest who were playing table tennis.

When I was watching the table tennis match, I was tempted by Ryoma’s shining roller blade shoes, and giving it a try for 3 mins. I can’t walk at all. The most I did was stand and sit for couple of times, pose for a pic, and take off the shoes.

"Sporty" Guys and Girls :)

After that, we headed to hawker center for a dinner and went back home. It was already 10 something when we reached, but then we decided to watch another movie “Shutter Island” before going to bed. The movie was much better than the Clash of Titans, but I don’t like the psycho theme. I never scared of ghost movies, my psycho movies normally haunts me for few weeks. The movie took place in some wards for prisoner… which surprisingly…. Look pretty much the same like the dream I had one week ago. I didn’t know how can I dream of something before I watched it. Weird.

So on Saturday, I slept at almost 4… and woke up at 12 again the next day. I hate my sleeping hours these days! :s I showered and then went to our normal lunching place… and all in sudden… my legs hurt. Hurt so much that I stopped multiple times in the middle just to gather more strength to walk. My flatmates were equally puzzled as me. I didn’t fell off, I didn’t break my ankle, but my legs just refused to walk. The thing gets worse after I reached back home, so I decided to go to a Chinese medical center for a check.

Within a brief investigation, the physician figured out what happen. I broke my ligament when I tried out the roller blade shoes. I get myself to a clinic just for trying a pair of shoes? Trust me you won’t understand how bad I feel about it :( Sport is not my expertise, I know… but to be terribly bad in it… hmmm :(

Anyway, he helped me to do some massage, stickered some medicine to my ankle, and billed me SGD44.10 before saying everything is going to be alright in a week. So let’s see. For now, I can not walk properly, can’t stand properly… so what I’m doing is sitting in front of computer all day… (Which is what I normally do after all :p)

So.. that’s it.. the long weekend is coming to an end… And I didn’t see any other holiday coming up soon… so… all the best everyone! :)

Happy Easter Day!
