Happy Easter!

I’m having a severe stomachache – which I tried to suppress by pressing a bolster to my stomach while typing… but it doesn’t really work… T_T

This week has come and gone too fast. There was a four days lean delivery workshop from Mon – Thurs in Innovation Corner, which hindered me from yoga and exercise during lunch hour. Then, the moment I decided to do my running in the evening, a meeting invite popped-out for 6 – 7pm schedules. In the end, I didn’t do any exercise at all this week :( Why good will always got so many challenges. Sigh.

Thurs night, we went to Chijmes for a chill out. The initial plan was to go to Timbre. Unfortunately the place was overly crowded… so we ended up at Bobby’s, which was randomly chosen, as none of us is really an expert in this. The place has indoor and outdoor sitting. We picked the aircon room inside. I have to say that I totally enjoyed the night. The place was spacious, we got the VIP corner, and there are good songs throughout the night. I guessed I got pretty high with one Margarita. I remember taking lots of nice shot during the night… but now that I see it, they are all blur =__=’’

World of Our Own! Muahahahaha… Models' identity shall remain a secret

Friday – I spent my morning in dreamland. For evening, we gathered to have dinner @ Cumi Bali – one of the Indonesian restaurant near Tanjong Pagar. The restaurant made it to the “Must Try List” in ieatishootipost… but I don’t like it that much :( Yes the satay and the chili were awesome, but the oxtail soup and fish were so bad that I can’t even force myself to take another bite (if you know my standard of food, you can imagine how bad it is). And then, the food prices are not cheap either… ^^; we can go for a decent buffet with $28. After the dinner, we have a stroll to Chinatown and I manage to try my first KOI drink. Love it :)

Fighterz Gathering :D

Saturday – I woke up early morning and tagged along my roomie to Queenstown Sport Center for some morning run. I managed to complete 4.4km within 35 minutes... and I’m loving it.. :D I don’t understand how I get so addicted with running these days… but I guess it’s not a bad thing :) After exercise, I can’t help but take a nap until around 12.00.. then went for a lunch at Jack’s Place. Back from lunch, I relax for a while then went for an Easter Concert at Bethany Church.

The Easter Concert – Love the performance!

Sunday – I woke up sadly, knowing it’s the last day of the long weekend :( My stomach starts to act weird since morning and it’s still like that till now. I showered and went to Shangri La for the Easter worship & lunch. The lunch went on from 12.30 until 3pm. By the time I reached back home, it’s already 5pm, and I have to get ready for dinner ^^; I had dinner at Marche and reached back home at almost 10pm… still not ready to start working tomorrow…

6 Courses Lunch, followed by a buffet dessert!

The weather has been super hot again this day… and I start wondering how long can my body endure this kind of treatment…

Ok, time to find another way to suppress my stomachache… maybe by playing some games? I completed “Cooking Academy” this week, in addition to “COD” and “Surviving High School”. I hope I’m not turning into game freak :S

A Certificate of Completion for "Cooking Academy" LOL

Hope for better weekend ahead!

BTW! I installed the Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac (with the $15 Microsoft Employee Purchase Program) It looks quite awesome so far :)

Malacca!

Ok. I still owe a post from last week.

And there is a reason why I always try to blog during the week itself – I can’t recall now what I have done last week T_T

Just the key items then...

In one of my attempts to live a healthy life, I tried not to skip breakfast anymore and bought myself one loaf of bread last week for breakfast. I guess it went fine… but I can’t really tell the benefits of having breakfast :( For one thing, I need to wake up 10 minutes earlier to prepare and eat my breakfast. Then I got sore throat because I kept eating toasted bread. I still get hungry at the same time for lunch, and I had to eat 6 slices of bread on its expiry date because I don’t like to throw food…

So yeah… mission halt after a week… :p until someone can convince me on how breakfast can be more precious than my 10 minutes sleep in the morning.

Last week, I went for exercise, run, and yoga as usual. I managed to finish my 3km+ run without stopping at all! This is a big achievement for me =) Even though it was a very very slow run (like 10.5 mins / km), it’s the first time that I didn’t lose breath and can maintain my pace. Guess I’m in love with running now. And Labrador park is just one of the best spot ever! I’m looking forward to my first (most probably) 5 km run this coming July.

After “What the Dog Saw”, I read a chicklit novel “Singletini”. It was such an easy reading book, and I managed to complete it within the week itself! Time to get a new one from Inche :p haha..

Last highlight from last week will be my 2 Days 1 Night trip to Malacca. I always heard how cheap things can be in Malaysia... but I still can hardly believe it when I experienced it myself. They sold 3 pairs of cute nice earrings for Rm 5! Any satay for Rm 0.7! Famous chicken rice ball for Rm 0.5! And they said the liquor price is also half in Malaysia (that I don’t know the market price)

Love the creative couple shirts!

Step on FB, Google, Twitter, etc... your choice!

I reached back to Singapore at around 7.30 PM… then went back home after a dinner at Botak Jones. Awesome weekend, and I can’t wait for this upcoming long weekend! ^^

One day to go!

Quarter Life Crisis Kicks In.

Help!

I don’t know what I want :( 5 days just come and go in a blink of eyes. I can’t recall what time I went home from office this week. I can’t remember whether I went to Kusu Island last week or last two weeks or last month. My life is on autopilot and I don’t even know if it’s a good or bad thing =__= I need to start planning… but about what? I like the typical 5 working days job, which I am already in, and which I might be staying at if I don’t do anything else about it.

In an attempt not to be seen as a dormant individual and to reduce my own guilt feeling, I decided to look for some other opportunities online. Well, the job descriptions look interesting, but none bring me the urge high enough to go and complete the application form, prepare resume, and do research for interview. Well, I think nothing can really go far if I don’t even know what I want to do. And it brings me back to square one.

Earlier this week, I had two dreams. One relates to family, parents, which make me feel homesick and want to go home. Another one relates to work – where my team requested me to stayed in Germany for a year and I happily agreed to it. Why such a contradicting feeling? I am totally confused if what I’m looking for.

Since in the end I still can’t see what kind of future I want, I decided to live for the present. I will go home when I feel home sick. I will go for business trip if needs be. And maybe some travels with friends and family every year to remind myself that world is bigger than only office and rental flat :)

You know, as you grow older, you tend to lose the enthusiasm of trying something new or doing something differently. Looking back to my university life, I suddenly feel glad that I decided to spend one of my recess weeks taking first aid course & joining the two days orientation at Changi. That’s the only recess week I remembered, and the only recess I didn’t spend on lab and project works, I guess.

Well, maybe from now on, I should set myself a target to do something for the “First time” every year. This time, lets start with joining a running race, shall I :D

Btw! Some achievement this week: I completed Glee Season 1! Yay! Now on Season 2 Episode 3. All because the delays in HIMYM and BBT that we got so bored and decided to complete Glee... and not I get addicted =__=

Another achievement is… I finally finished the book “What the Dog Saw”! After a painful 9 months :’D I don’t know, the book was so boring that finishing a page every morning is already an achievement by itself. Hope that my next selection of novel can be better than this.

Oh yes (suddenly notice that I haven’t mentioned anything about office). Things are OK. Big boss was on business trip & will be on leave next week… so hopefully things will be easier for me :p And! We got two new grads in office. One from SMU and one from NUS. Both are awesome :D and no one can beat the intern from NTU. There are already so many people hitting on her. Hahaha.. my office live seems to have a younger vibe these days :)

And since I still haven't posted any pic this week, allow me to introduce you to my favourite food in the office's canteen. My beloved Chicken Herbal Soup Miniwok. It worths every single cent of $4.5 :D

Some of Blazers are currently enjoying themselves at Perth… hope they are having the time of their lives there! :) They deserved it after the planning of almost 6 months.

Ok, ok, 5pm on a sunny Saturday. Time to log off and breath some fresh air!

Intervention

If you watch “How I meet your mother”, you know what intervention is. It’s the time when your friends decided that you’re somehow out of the line, and hence decided to wake you up by telling the truth and hence called “The Intervention”.

Well, I got one last week. haha.. not a very serious one, but it’s still a wake up call for me. During one dinner on Friday, the intern in my department told me that I always looked tense and never enjoyed my self =__= Even though I didn’t agree with the latter part, the first comment make me stunt for a while. Is it true that I always look tense and worried? :( Do I take work too seriously? Sometimes I really wonder to whom should I compare myself to. If I compare my work to my other colleagues, it might be true that I overworked a bit. But if I compared with my other friends on the same batch, I think I complained too much. There are friends working on Saturday and Sunday, friends who have to be on stand-by throughout the days, friends who need to fight to get customers, etc etc… who am I to complain when my boss texted me once in a blue moon on weekend?

So! In the end I still not sure if I should take work more lightly. To forget about deadlines and forgot about trying to satisfy everyone. To forget about action points and follow-ups. To forget about planning and improvisation… Just do whatever is required to get through the day. Will I be happier that way? Will I live my life fuller? Geez, I don’t think I can sleep well at night if I do all those.

I would like to then conclude that... To be able to look tense and serious all the time is… my very own expertise! Hahaha… I’m not sure if I’m workaholic… I just want to conclude my work and make sure that I can enjoy my non-work time to the max… so nothing much will change for now… I guess I have learnt quite a lot on how to close one eye in most of the issues in the office… so I will stick with it for now… until my other friends gave me another intervention! Haha…

Btw, Quarter 2 is here… which means only one thing for me: My slot for buffet is open! ^^ Where should I spent my precious buffet allowance this quarter?

April fool was a nice day as I manage to fool my colleagues. I hoaxed an email saying that my team is moving to Maple Tree next month and forwarded it to them… 100% successful rate as everyone responded in shocked tone. YAY!

April Fool's Dinner @ Esmirada, Chijmes

This weekend, we celebrated Mr & Mrs Liusman b’day at Spize. Happy birthday, happy couple! and man, I love the place! Kudos to Jess for arranging it. The food is good, plenty, and cheap! I had Nasi Goreng Kampong, which is most probably one of the best Malay Nasi Goreng I ever had in Singapore, seriously. And it’s for $5. We stayed there for almost 3 hours, and then went back home. It’s only around 10 minutes by bus to our place. Very convenient :D

After a filling dinner at Spize. Happy Birthday, Ver!!

Sunday, I went to NTU for badminton at SRC. It was so nostalgic. I remember about exam the moment I saw SRC. Going back to NTU again as ex-student, I got a chance to look at NTU from different perspective. It amazed me how NTU actually have so many facilities, yet I hardly tap on any of those during my years in NTU. If I can turn back time, maybe I will at least visit the gym or swim at least once a week. The juniors these days make a better use of the facilities than us. Good improvement. Hahaha…

After the badminton, we had lunch at Canteen 2. Yes, the beef ball uncle is still there. I used to have thick + thin beehon combined soup… but he didn’t allow it anymore T_T The egg & beef ball are still as nice as ever. And what amazed me more… the price is still the same! $2.5 for a bowl of beef ball noodle. After almost 7 years. Wow!

My favorite food during first year in NTU

After lunch, we took the free shuttle bus to Pioneer MRT, and then went straight back home. The weather these few days are soooo hot that I felt like melting. Have no motivation to go out at all unless it’s really compulsory. Even the usual windy flat suddenly feels like oven these days.

Talking about flat, our rental contract is ending next month, and we’re already on discussion with the owner for the price for renewal. The owner wants to increase the rate by $200… which is quite high for 4 of us T_T We negotiate and $2,750 is the best price they can give (i.e. $150 increase). Should we continue? I guess everyone is pretty much tired of moving, and sort of agree to the revised price. Haha… but the property price is really crazy these days T_T Please please I hope the property market will burst and go down next year. I will never be able to afford anything if it keeps going up much faster than my salary increment. Haha..

OK, that’s all for now folks. Time for Harry Potter 7!
