Happy Independence Day, US!

July.

Two years ago, it marked my big turn from student to employee. One year ago, it marked my shift from CBD to IT Hub. This year…? I get a boom for my income tax! Bye Macbook Pro.

I’m still in the same office, even though I have moved to different team. I’m getting comfortable in my current team, getting so much engrossed with myself. Once I looked around, I then realized that so many people have come and gone. All these changes still surprised me after two years. How can people decide to move on after so many years in the bank? What does it mean? Do I have to start getting out from my comfort zone and look around too…?

It makes me anxious to keep hearing my friends switch job. Look for more opportunity and challenges, they say. Being a Kiasu (fear of losing) person I’m, I want to follow too! But at the same time, I aware I have never been in the same team for more than half a year. I’m still learning all along. I can’t give enough reason to convince myself to move on… so I stay… :)

I’m curious to know where I’m next year! If I’m still in the same team doing the same thing, maybe it’s then a sign for me to rethink.

On Thurs, there are two new grads joining in the office. I haven’t gotten a chance to speak with them, but will definitely do so… there are too many meetings and conf call these days… I can hardly get myself off phone once the clock hits 2PM. Have no one to blame as most of the calls are initiated by me.

I thought that I will be working overtimes a lot this week, but I’m kind of wrong. I managed to walk out from office at 8pm on Friday (Yay!), even though I reached Clarke Quay only at almost 9.30 PM because of my sense of direction (I’m really sorry T_T). We took dinner & had a small walk around Clarke Quay. Everyone there was watching football! Cafes are making lots of money! hehe...

I intended to go swimming Saturday morning, but the weather didn’t allow to, so I did my chores. In the afternoon, we went to Koufu for lunch and to IKEA to accompany Mr Moja doing his furniture shopping. He got some vase, some wallpaper, and some decoration… which will never go to, even only my restaurant city, shopping list. I don’t really understand how my mind works. Am I that stingy or I’m just too much of minimalist?

After the shopping, we (Helios, Winson and I) went to NTU Alumni Club for evening swim. Very big thanks to my roommate for lending me her member card. The swimming pool is larger than the one we had in the previous condo, and I really have to put effort in completing the 12 laps. Afterwards, I can’t stop myself from getting a huge dinner =_=’’ What a waste. Haha..

That night, I watch football for the first time in this 2010 (can’t remember if I watched any last year). We gathered at Yongky’s place and I witnessed the first goal by Germany. The rest is history. I didn’t watch everything (unable to decide between football and Donald duck comics), but I can feel the spirit from everyone else. I support Germany for the rest of the match… Like their attire lots :p

One of my friends, who is an Argentina’s supporter, commented that Germany won because they were using German ball, Adidas, for the match. The ball was complained to be too bouncy for the other team. Not sure how true it is, but I heard lots of funny comments which can only come from football mania.

Anyway, I suddenly hit by a lot of pimples this week. Further investigation revealed that the supposely 'nutritious' medicine I'm consuming is too heaty. Have to stop the intake for now. Sometimes I'm very confused with all these chinese medicine. You have too take it to keep yourself strong. But if you take it too frequently, you will fall sick. Sigh. This area is still a big black hole for me. I haven't been eating KFC for the last few weeks and still I get sore throat because of the medicine!

Sunday is the day for long deep sleep. Sadly, I didn’t have good sleep these days :( I kept dreaming about office & its worst case scenario. Is it a sign of stress? It’s not that bad actually. It makes me realized that situation can turn so much worse, and I should feel thankful that the reality is still within control.

But still! I don’t mind some grand dream… let’s say a holiday in Japan or winning a lottery. Maybe I should change my pre-sleeping habit. I should watch some movies rather than playing games (what is the difference anyway ^^;)

For once, I feel unmotivated because of my iPhone :( I lost ALL my contacts in my address book after restart. To complicate matters, I accidentally deleted my backup when I formatted my computer last week. Think about all the information I have put in: The birthday, the address, the email, I can’t help but to keep blaming apple of having such a faulty software release this time (Still in denial mode)

Now is 6.30. Time to look for some dinner before watching Alice in the Wonderland. I heard from my sister that weather is hot in China now, but SG is so cloudy & rainy!

Go Deustchland Go! Win the World Cup and give us a day off! :D
