World Cup Final!

How can each week just passed like that! I can’t believe this is another week again :(

Anyway, I have gone through the busiest week for this month. Phew. It was packed late conference calls almost everyday, preparing for the monthly forum, and... getting the first appearance in the forum itself! Hahaha.. I don’t know whether I should hate or love my boss... he just arrowed a presentation to me without giving me a time at all to prepare... anyway... it’s over now~

This week, I have finally gotten a chance to talk to my boss. I requested for his feedback and here are 3 improvement areas that I gotten: Communication, communication, and communication!! T_T

1) "Be careful of who do you included in the email. Before your blast a mail, try to think from the recipient's perspective, if it’s required for them" (yes, this is particularly important as my work involve a lot of ‘broadcasting’. There is a thin line between my position and spammer)
2) "Do not always send request by email. Sometime you just have to pick a phone and call them up. You tend to be hesitant when I asked you to call someone. Never afraid of calling people up or standing on their side just to make sure you get things done" (and I get complained the other day that my boss always be very pushy with his request)
3) "Widen your network. Engage with more people. You will be surprised how fast you can get things done when you talk to the right people" (this one I agree)
4) "Be more firm, give warning, give order, and do not afraid of asking people to do things" (yes, it’s easy to say it when you’re in VP position T_T)

Those are the main comments... and I know they were coming… I didn't remember getting any compliment (huh T_T) but at least the critics are not very bad, even though it will still be hard to quantify at the end of the year.

Surprisingly, after the feedback, he became kinder with me. He offered me a ride home at night… and I made a very good impression by getting lost with direction. T_T he got some calls from his wife asking what took him so long. I must say he is a very family oriented person.

This week is a shorter week for me. After the forum on Wed, we cancelled our Thurs call. I thought I could leave earlier, but alas, I remembered my Friday training on last minute. In the end I have to stay in the office until 1am to clean up the pending stuffs I planned for Friday.

Sleeping at 2am and waking up at 7am, I didn’t put a lot of attention during the Negotiation Training. I had the training in the exact same place and room where I did my Project Management Training. The food was good, but the training content was too little. It taught exactly the same thing (if not less) then what get taught in 180 Communication skill during my 1st year in NTU. Nothing much except getting to know some friends, and even some people who I have been interacting with for quite some time, but never see face to face =)

After the training, Glen and I went to overeasy for Sab’s farewell party. It has been such a long time since I met her, but nothing much change; she is just as fabulous as usual :) I interpret the bar name as “things get over too easy”, which turns me to melancholic mode :’(

With Sab @ Overeasy. Take me some courage to post this 'unbalanced' pic =.=

I wasn’t feeling to well at that day, hence I headed off at around 9 and reached back house at around 9.30… I stayed at home for the rest of the day watching “Date Night” which is surprisingly good =) Better than Karate Kid I must say!

The next day, I slept like pig until 11, then adventurous enough to go hunting for food. When we say hunting, it means some which not in the 100m vicinity from MRT / reachable only by bus. We reached Boon Tong Kee @ River Valley, which, I must say, worth the travel! The food is nyummy and I guess I will be back for more with the 10 bucks voucher in my hand. Hehe.. We went to Swirl@rt for yogurt dessert... which I lurved so much! Will come back for more!!

After the lunch, I suddenly switched to shopping mode and spend (at least) 500 bucks before dinner =_=’’The stuff were already in my shopping list for quite sometime, but yesterday I just ticked them all somehow without a plan. We have dinner @ Beppu Menkan. It’s a Japanese noodle shop, where you can pick the level of chili you want for the noodle. They have five different level and I was so tempted to try the fifth… but my friend warned me of how his other friend’s lip turned like Angelina Jolie’s after the noodle… so in the end I started with level # 3.

It was good… just the right amount of spice… and I have to control hard not to choke. In total, it’s a good ramen for $11. My iPhone hanged when I took the pic… so no pic! (I’m getting irritated with iPhone these days)

We paid a visit to helios’ lair, and stayed there in awe watching MBC Star Dance Battle. They are just awesome! We finally decided to went back at around 9, and starting off with another movie “Cop Out” for the night :p The movie is below expectation :( Don’t know why Bruce Willis played such a movie T_T Such a big difference with his Die Hard 4 (even though I haven’t watched it, he :p)

Sunday, is my chore day… I did sweeping, mopping, ironing (at least reduces my guilt of not going out for sport).. And spend some time watching “Alice in Wonderland”. It was not a very amazing movie, but at least it managed to engage me till the end. Now I know what the famous Walt Disney “Alice in Wonderland” is all about =)

Talking about animation… I can’t wait to watch “Despicable me”, which everyone said “So cute I’m gonna die!”… and “Toy Story 3”… and oh of course, other than animation, the new movie “Inception” from Leonardo…

… I’m addicted to movie these days… blame it to the TV series which decided to all rest until the next season! T_T Well, at least I watched them in the nearby theater (read: room) which offers free movie, free air con, and free chips! Hahaha..
Dad & Mum have been busy this week due to the school reunion.. Can't believe that they pull it off. All alumnus from year 1965 to now... I can't imagine how my small hometown can fit them all. Some coming all the way from Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Taiwan, etc.. even US!

Ok, going off to bed now! Netherland Spain whoever wins please do not turn Paul to Takayoki!
