Excited

Ok, just a quick post!

My sister is coming today, along with her husband and kid. I can’t wait to meet my nephew… So excited that I can’t really put myself to sleep any longer. I woke up at 8.30 AM on a Saturday and can’t stop smiling =__= And they are only reaching at 7.30 PM later. Sigh.

Office has been pretty much OK this week. I’m not sure what happen with my boss, but I hardly see him these days… We had our big quarterly forum on Wednesday, and I’m so glad when the big boss said that we might want to reduce the frequency of the forum. Yay! Things are still manageable but I don’t dare to think of what might happen next week. Big boss is coming and I have list of things-u-must-finish-in-January line up! And next Saturday, I will be going back to hometown for CNY. Why I always have this kind of work piling before my holiday T_T Like I have to go through bitterness everytime before I can taste any sweetness. Haha…

The highlight of this week is birthday. I celebrated one belated birthday for Citra at Aston Specialties (Thanks Cit for making it all the way to my office!) and one birthday in advance for Winson at Sakae Sushi (Thanks everyone to come from all over Singapore) I think I ate too much… I can still feel the dragon sushi in my stomach. And with CNY coming up, I don't know how to keep myself composed with all the temptations.

Happy Birthday in Advance!

Apart from some other surprises (e.g. some funny fight between me and colleagues in office, some uncertainty if Passport will be back to me before next week end), live is pretty much enjoyable. I heard some news about the 13th Zodiak sign Ophiuchus. Can’t wait to see if it changes me from Aries to some other animals! :p

OK, going off now to check in the hotel @ Resort World!

Mid of Jan 2011

Hoookay! Another week has passed in 2011. I’m embarking the second part of Jan 2011… and I can see the busy days ahead… until end of Feb 2011 T_T My sister is coming next week, and I have hectic evening calls scheduled for the last 5 days of the month. I don’t think I will ever recover from my pimples (sigh) but life goes on!

I have been very addicted to iPhone’s game “Dinner Dash” recently. I’m now on the 6th level of Mystic Palace… and God knows how to pass the level ~.~ I need someone with very quick responses to pass it. Any voluntary? In addition, I’m still playing the COD, which is a pretty good game to spent half an hour on every weekend :p

Office has back to normal, with the return of my boss. I felt that he trusts me more these days - asking for my view on many different things. Oh well I’m glad for that, but it’s so tough to act smart when you really have no clue on what it is about T_T Lets see how to survive. Heh.

On Wednesday, I start to join the weekly run organized by my colleagues. They started running around 6.45 PM, going through one round at Labrador park, then reached back office around 7.45 PM. It was raining earlier of the day, and the weather was really, really nice. I run ambitiously for the first 10 minutes, then losing my breath on the 15th min, and start walking from there on =.=’ Not a good achievement, I know. But at least I get it started! :)

My boss was on urgent leave for Thurs and Friday… and I haven’t gotten his approval for the leave I intend to take for Chinese New Year… I hope there won’t be any sudden surprise.

My working days of the week ended at 10.30 PM on Friday, after the team weekly call. For the first time, it got shifted from Thurs to Friday. Well, I have to stop complaining about having the call on Thursday. The call gets worse when you’re actually in weekend mood.

Saturday, I became an ad-hoc tour guide for a fella who came from Germany. Alessa and I went to… many places! From Chinatown, we walked all the way to Outram Park. From Outram, we took the MRT To Orchard, then walk from there to Sommerset and then to Dhoby Ghaut. She was really excited because all the tourist spots are so near and convenient… where I feel bad as I realized how small Singapore is. After the last stop at Dhoby Ghaut (with Gong Cha bubble tea), we parted as she went to night safari and I went to Toa Payoh for a birthday party.

Good or bad, it’s the only picture of me with Alessa

Despite meeting her for the first time, I had a really good time with her. She shared a lot of her experiences… she has been traveling around the world for 3 months now… She started with US, New Zealand, Australia… After Singapore, she is going to Tokyo, Phuket, Hongkong... etc. She studied medical and have good passion in photography, cooking, and even clothing. And guess what, she and I are almost the same age! *Gasp. The picture doesn’t do her justice. She looks much better in real life :) Bon Voyage, Alessa, and wish you a great wonderful journey ahead!

Back to Toa Payoh, I reached the Pizza Hut after got lost for almost 20 minutes =.=’ We celebrated Fidel’s b’day… She is my senior in NTU… and yes, she is younger from most of us. We finished the dinner at around 9.30, then went back home to rest.

Happy 24th B'day, Fidel!

I didn’t watch many movies this week, except for the normal TV series and “Eat, Pray, Love”, which feels like the longest movie in my life. Haha.. I only love the part when Julia Roberts went to Bali… trying to identify any indonesian words that’s familiar to me. Oh, isn't it pathetic that me Indonesian haven't gone to Bali?

I think I complained a lot in this post :s On Sunday, I did my bi-weekly room cleaning, changing bed sheet, cursing the rain, then going out for a badminton @ PSA Club. We had a nice badminton for around 2 hours, then I went to a sinful dinner at Barcelos. The food is similar to Nando, which came with its signature Peri Sauce. Well, I think I had too much of its “Super Peri” and “Very Peri”, enduring a slight stomach ache now T_T

Those pretty much sum-up my second week of the year. It’s 10 PM on a Sunday night. What should I do before sleep? :)

Breezing Singapore,

Hi, 2011!

Welcoming the New Decade @ Teck Wyne Cafe

Yay! My first post in 2011! New year, new resolution, new spirit! :D

First week of the year… and I need to announce that I have used up my quota for monthly KFC and quarterly buffet T_T How am I going to survive the rest of the year… I don’t know.

My holiday mood died out on my first working day in 2011. Well, my big boss and big-big boss are back… and with 1001 things in their mind, I have no choice but to stay until 10 / 11 pm almost everyday, skipping my lunch, exercise, and even my yoga! T_T

Well, it seems like I was too ambitious with my New Year resolution. One week into it and my route has deviated from all the resolutions.

This Friday, I had the year-end party at Songs of India, which is located around orchard area. It was a hidden bungalow-type restaurant. The food was good, but if there is anything so memorable about the party, it’s the presenter. Really, that’s the best office year-end dinner I had ever attended. The presenter drove the event so well. From 7.30 – 11.00 PM, he didn’t miss a single beat. Even the lousy microphone didn’t stop him from getting everyone’s attention and brought them to laugher. He is amazing. And he is no other than my own big boss. Oh man… I have no doubt in declaring him as the person with the highest EQ I have ever seen (apart from his super high IQ).

You know, despite me complaining so much about my work life, I think I feel grateful for being where I’m. A job offer earlier the week seems to be purposely sent to make me think through of my decision of getting new job. I listed down my pro and cons between staying in banking vs. moving to non-financial industry. Financial industry wins for its $$$ (materialistic girl I’m =.=’) as well as the exposure its gave.

Alright, I don’t mean to be so serious in my first post of the year… Lets end this post with my early 2011 sin: Tianfu Steamboat buffet - One of the best steamboats in Singapore!

There goes my buffet quota of the quarter.

My boss is coming back tomorrow T_T,
