My 1000th Post and Bye!

I reached my 4 digit post! I never really counted but just happened to see the number of posts I have when I hit a new entry.

I have been ignoring Instagram and Twitter, sticking with blogger for the longest time, but I guess I just found something that comfortable for me.

Follow me at dayre.me/erlindiana!

Dayre is really new (just released in Nov 2013!) and I'm not 100% convinced that it can be a full substitute for my blog. For one, I can only use my mobile for blogging - no entry using PC! And for two, I still can't find search function on this little app.

Micro Blog @ Dayre!
Having said so, I tried the app for few days and it has been serving me good so far! All I need is 10 mins (in bus or mrt) and I can post what I think about at the moment. No need for computer. And since the app is created for mobile, the interface is good (despite some failed-uploaded posts. hmm)

Another side effect - since everything supposed to be instantaneous, I never reread my post and I know for sure there are thousand one grammar errors in my post T_T I'm not sure if I dare to review my post in the future.

I might be blogging again once I'm bored with Dayre... But, yeah, bye for now :)

The Food Journey continues - Experience @ Fat Boy's

We went to Pasir Panjang for saturday lunch. I love Fat Boy's and I remember it has the $12.50 for main + soup + drink promotion which I felt quite worth it. So I went there... and realise that they have just recently changed the promotion to $10 for main + drink. It sounds good to me as well, so we went in and ordered.

After ordering, the waitress came back and apologies to us, saying that the promotion is not applicable for weekend. I was disappointed. It was clearly not stated in the promotion poster. I almost walked out but Winson told me not to. So I agreed to stick around, but decided to post it on their Facebook's page...

... Turn out they have a first class responder to their Facebook page! I received update within 3 mins (I looked inside the restaurant as well just to see if someone is there replying). I decided to make use of the real time answering to my benefit.

Fat Boy's Facebook Page - Pls do not black list me
... and yeah, I shamelessly asked for a free soup and I got it XD One minute after I posted the request, the restaurant's phone rang and they served us soup within the next 3 mins. Power of social media. How cool is that ^^; I just hope that they didn't put any special ingredient to their soup.

Burger and Fries are good as usual!
Apart from burger, I had a week full of delicious meals as usual :D

Cute cupcake from colleagues! The mushroom is not edible =.=' known by experience
Ala Carte from the XO Fish Soup across the street! Good but quite Ex - these for $27
What else if not the award winning Tim Ho Wan! We were lucky to queue less than 15 mins :)
... I just have to post this to add more taste to the food :p
After all the sinful food, lets end this post with my daily supper :)

After Dinner's Fruit
Till the next post! (Gosh it will be my 1000th Post!)

Happy Birthday Fendi @ KBox Marina Square

Fendi and I talked about KTV and Buffet few months ago and how it's one of the most perfect combination. I totally agreed with it. Imagine how happy we were when we saw a deal just about it!

@KBOX + Buffet - Celebrating few of Fendi's exceptional skills in life - Singing + Eating!
So we decided to use the chance to celebrate Fendi's b'day over KTV as well. After all, it's not very often for us to go to such high class KTV (we normally go either Teo Heng or Ten Dollars Club).

The place was really huge to start with. It has like 60+ rooms with different facilities (some rooms come with private pool table! O.O) Our is decent size and located around 1 min from the buffet table (that's important!)

The deal! It's around $10 off - not bad!
The buffet spread was really not bad It served Chinese, Western, and decent spread of Japanese food. The fried prawn was surprisingly tasty. And I love the Salmon too. And oh, they even serve Nachos! I had at least 4 rounds before proceeding to dessert (Bean Curd + Mango Sago + Ice Cream + Eclair). The selection of drinks are decent as well - Black current, peach, green tea :D

My first round!
One of the section at the buffet table!
Do I want to come back? YES! Can I find friends to come back? I'm not sure.  Sad to say, all of us aren't young anymore to indulge too often in these kinds of buffet T_T

I had a great time, thanks Deal.SG! :p

Exit Plan - I'm Loving It!

Tried out another Room Escape Game this month! This thing can be quite addictive, seriously. The good news is, there are so many providers now and the price and going to the lower end. Yipee! I paid $28 last time for escape game. The new one cost me a mere $9! And the game is as good :D

Thanks Groupon for the good deal!
I played the Zombie Apocalypse Room from Exit Plan. This provider has a board for Hall of Fame, which made me even more competitive than usual. I was really sure that our team gonna made it to the Hall of Fame! Well, turn out that I'm not that smart. Sob!

There are 6 of us in the team and the game master told us we got 2 hints for the game. I was all ready to charge into the room and play. Previously in "Inception", my team was split into two room. Now all of us are together, what could possibly stop us?

... Turn out two pairs of our teams are chained together T_T Yes, that's what can stop us. I got chained to Winson and Tomy was chained to Dhany. Fendi and Fidel was happily running around.

When I entered the room, I was quite shocked to see how big it's (it's really big, not being sarcastic). There are so many things around and I can't tell at all which ones are clues and which ones are decorations. Behold, turn out that nothing is decoration. Everything was there for a reason. We realised it way too late ^^;

The first thing to solve was hexagon. That lead us to a code to open the luggage. The second thing was code in few items + poster, which lead us to open the suitcase. From suitcase, we got the hints to open first locker locker. At the same time, we got puzzle of "UNCHAIN" to solve so that we could unlocked ourselves. Within locker, there was another hints which lead us to another locker, as well as a small box. There are, in total, 7 games to solve, all within the short 50 mins. It's totally insufficient! I don't believe how can other solve it so fast! Unless there are unlimited help card! Hump! We extended the room for another 10 mins and managed to reach the last game, but failed to open the lock in time. I'm really sure that we'll be able to figure it out if we get 15 more mins! :p

Well, from the game, I can really see how everyone contribute differently! Fendi was really fast with clues collections. Tomy was definitely our quiz solver, super fast with numbers! Dhany has a surprisingly cool reading skill, Fidel was fast with crossword, Winson was super patient with testing all different codes, and I... well, was busy ringing up for help ^^;

Exit Plan - Zombie Apocalypse!
I better stop writing before revealing too much (and made other people to Hall of Fame. No Way!) I really like the game and the team :) Would love it if we're able to break on time, but reality is... well, the real escape game is way much tougher than the online ones.

Till the next promotion! :p

Festive Food for Festive Season!

December = Eat + Eat + Eat. Not like I'm dong anything to prevent it. I just hope that I can wake up early enough everyday to burn a bit of the calories. Not like I'm really determined in doing so too. sigh.

Anyway, worry about those later. Here is some of the new things I tried!

Christmas cake from Alan and Mages! Delivered fresh to office for tea break. Thanks so much guys :)
Mc D Kampung version! Quite like it. The pineapple was really juicy!
handmade kueh from Winson's insurance agent. Really yummy!
This are the side dish of Kenny Roger's quarter chicken. Posting the chicken cause me too much guilt
Pizza Hut's Doubledecker - special Christmas edition :D It has mango on top!
Cheesy Tender Chicken from Korean's Nene Chicken :) Nicer than KFC! but slightly more expensive as well.
It's hardly the mid of the month and and I'm already eating like there is no tomorrow =.=' Lets see whats else coming up later!

Mapletree Blood Drive - Supported by Coca Cola

So I was walking to gym as usual on a Tuesday morning. There were coke's car at the foyer area, setting up some booth and I thought it's some kind of recycling awareness event.

During lunch time, I passed through the foyer again. There was free coke zero distributed and the people happened to be promoting BLOOD DRIVE O.O around my office area. I can't really see the relation between coke and blood, but I'm happy to take the free coke still.

The circulated "flyer" which came with the free coke
Having been receiving sms-es regarding the shortage of blood, I was really keen to go and donate. I had one and only condition: I want to go with a friend. I tried so hard to convince my lunch buddies but both of them turned down my offer badly =___=' I was dishearten.

At around 3pm, after I finished a seem to be never-ending call, I decided to go to donate anyway. I called out from my desk and asked if anyone wants to go to do some kindness. And within a minute I got 4 colleagues saying they would join me :| I guess it's all about asking the right crowd.

Cute Blood Mascot!
The blood donation was located at the multipurpose hall. The place is decent for a blood drive :) We came at the right time, the queue was really minimum. Within half an hour, I was already sitting at the bench waiting to donate. The donation itself took around 5 mins and I was soon moved to the refreshment area.

Donation Setup @ Mapletree Multipurpose Hall
Selfie during the donation - not for the weak heart XD
First time I see minute maid offered instead of Milo after donation!
For some reason, I'm always very excited during blood donation. Maybe it's the setup. They have different station and I felt a sense of achievement whenever I proceed to the next station ^^; I was always pleased when I completed the Hg test. We need to have the minimum of 12.5 to donate and I was 14.3! ^^

This is my 5th donation, and I'm getting addicted (hope it's for a good cause). Refreshment apart, it feels really good to know you might have saved some people's live.

My next eligible donation will be on 3rd March 2014!

Fifty Shades

I completed the Fifty Shades trilogy today! It started as a curious reading and I never thought that I would actually finish reading them.

Explicit scenes aside (which I conveniently skipped after awhile), I think the novel actually have a very Disney's story. A decent girl falls in love with a handsome + rich guy, and the guy actually loves her back. The first book talks about how they meet, the second book about how they date, and the third book about how they got married and lived happily ever after with two kids. Happy Ending.

Probably similar with any (real) love story, most of the exciting events happened in the first book (year). The excitement subdues when their relationship becomes stable in the second book. Finally, the third book was really about closing any gaps which were thrown in the first and second book. Not much of exciting twist, but it was good enough to make me complete the whole trilogy.
Fifty Shades - The Trilogy
So I heard that the novels are going to be made into a movie. I'm again curious on who will actually take the lead role, especially for the guy. It was describe oh-so-perfect in the book, I don't think any real person exist for that :p Anyway, we shall see!

Time to look for other book,

Standard Chartered 2013 - Ekiden!

After the hospital saga last year, I thought I would never come back to Standard Chartered Run again.

Standard Chartered - Ekiden!
Well, turn out that I can't resist XD I can't find enough reason to say "No" when the nice running gang invited me to join the fun. Since it's less than 7km and I have never tried it before, I decided to give it a go :D

Ekiden is a team run. Actually, it gave so much more pressure than the normal run. If any of us can't make it, the whole team will be disqualified. I was so worried that I actually had nightmare about it (dreamt about waking up at 9am when the run is almost over). I was so excited (?) that I actually woke up before the alarm rang at 3.30am ^^; Well done me.

The first runner starts at 5am. Both the first and second runners are really fast, and I believe I was among the top 20 that got my Sash. As the third runner, I ran for 6.7km, hitting the 4th Point at around 7.10am. And then it started raining for few mins before shining up again. Afterwards, I took the shuttle bus back to Padang and enjoyed the rest of the event.

At Ekiden point 4!
With the whole Ekiden team!
Standard Chartered really go all the way out. There are so many activities going around, the whole Padang is bustling with excitement. It was raining the day before and the ground was muddy, but it didn't stop the people from running around different booth.

Nice Christmas Tree
A tent specially for Standard Chartered Staff! Love the balloons!
I got some time to stand around the finishing line and cheer people up. It was such a fun thing to do. And at that moment... I feel like I want to start running again, training up for long run. Can I? I want to be one of the 10,000+ runners who passed the finish line, feeling all proud and accomplished.

I want to be one of the finishers!
Oh well, at least I got a pic with the finish line. lol.
queued for at least an hour for this pic =.='
I had lots of fun with the run! It really lit up my passion for running! Thanks so much, organisers!

Garden By The Bay - Christmas Sugar Mountain Edition!

I got two free tickets to the Conservatories, thanks to DB Corporate Responsibility! Decided to use it this weekend, which was nice cause the Christmas decoration is all up at the gardens!

Reach there at around 12pm, bright sky = nice pic, but it was really hot!
The weather was really sunny, and we're glassful that the dome is cooled. Spend some time walking around adoring the creation of Kazuyuki Ishihara. A lot of cute pineapples and strawberries along the way ^^;

Greeted by Pine and Straw at the entrance
The infamous chair came with Christmas decorated!
Love the deers! They are made of sticks.
The picture from second floor :)
I like the Christmas decoration, but I miss the big flower patch which it used to have (of course, the garden can't fit all). Well, I guess it means I have to come back next time!

At the infamous fall! It was raining both inside and outside the dome!
These train is meant to demonstrate energy conservation, guess wasn't there before!
I thought I will spend whole day there, but apparently it took us less than two hours to cover both domes. By the time we finish, the rain stops and we walked to Marina Bay Sands for windows shopping.

Passed through the 36km mark! I remember how much I suffer last year ^^;
Experiencing the TWG Cafe! The signature 1837 Black Tea was really nice!
What better to conclude a nice saturday than... a KFC seat meal! Tried out the new Korea Flavours, but I still prefer the usual Crispy! And I didn't know that Cheese Fries' price has increased so much! It's $4 for ala carte! I have to agree though that the taste has significantly improved.

KFC Spicy Korean Craze!
Till the next date!

Rec Club AGM @ Resort World Sentosa

I haven't been taking proper picture these days. I went to 5 hours at Sentosa and took less than 30 pictures. What's wrong with me!!

My team! Taken from Photo Booth. Hahahahahaha
Anyway, today is our Rec Club AGM. Well, it used to be called Dnd andAGM. But now that they did it in the morning, they have to remove the word DnD. Despite planned at 9am on a Saturday, it's still the most awaited event this year. We had it at Resort World Convention Center - I suspect that majority of the budget goes to renting the place and hence reduction in the lucky draw's prize. But I'm still pleased to get one tix of Universal Studio for the door prize XD.

Our Free Shuttle Bus to Resort World!
The theme this year is Hawaian. I opened my wardrobe and can't believe that I have zero flowery cloth. None. All my cloths are solid colours. I decided to go with a dress, which totally didn't meet the standard of hawaian look =.=

Trying hard to instil bits of Hawaian with Galland
Our table! during table game
Buffet Lunch! It was decent
I was quite engrossed with the whole event. There are so many familiar faces and I'm excited trying to see which one to talk to ^^; The event finish at 1pm and most of us went straight to the monorail. I don't think anyone actually used up the Universal Studio tix that day XD

With the pretty girls :D
I reached back home at around 2pm and sleep like pig until 5pm. I don't know what happen to me T_T I eat and sleep like no tomorrow these days. After awake, I attended some go-live calls until 9pm, and now going to watch some movies :D

Yay it's only Sat!
