His B’day Dinner @ Salt Grill & Sky Bar

I have been wanted to try out the Salt Grill at ION Level 55, and his birthday is a good excuse for us to be there :D

Salt grill and Sky Bar - 55th Floor!
The lift! the line thingy lit up as it went from 4 to 55th floor
Sky Pic when we arrived at the restaurant
We go for the Degustation Menu, which consist of 9 items per menu. At the beginning, I was a bit annoyed by the waiter. He kept trying to serve us the next food while we’re not done with the earlier menu. How could they? He even shoved my bread away while I’m still eating. In the end I had to tell him off =_=;

The romantic view from table. Too romantic I couldn't take any clear pic O.O
Our Menu of the day!
Bread selection with Luke Mangan olive oil and dukkah - decent - nothing terrific
Sashimi of kingfish, ginger, eschallot and goat’s feta - very fresh! :D
‘glass’ Sydney crab omelette, enoki mushroom and herb salad, miso mustard broth  - this was salty and good!
Pan seared scallops, black pudding sausage, crushed peas, red wine reduction . It's what it's as mentioned in the title.
Baked barramundi, char siu mushrooms, crab meat, bok choy - Sounds Chinese!
Maori Lakes beef tenderloin, celeriac, buttered spinach, bone marrow red wine jus  - The Main!
Caramelized figs with black berry consomme, mascarpone sorbet - doesn't taste as good as expected
Coffee - really bitter that I put at least 5 sugar cube.
Petit Fours - I love the macaroni but the rest were abit weird
Despite their flash speed in serving, the whole dinner took 2 hours as well. It was around 9.30pm when they finally served us coffee and we paid the bill. We took sometime to walk around the bar. The view of orchard from 55th Floor was quite gorgeous, fit for romantic dinner :D Just remember to book early if you want to get table by the window!

Almost forgot to take a pic of us during the dinner
Nice relaxing background at the ground floor, after the meal
After the whole dinner, I had another bowl of rice at home ^^;
